At the time of writing, Sacha Baron Cohen is not confirmed to be playing Mephisto in the MCU, as neither the actor, his representatives, Marvel Studios, or Disney have revealed anything.
However, it is very likely that the Borat and The Dictator star could be playing the infamous villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Towards the end of August, a recent copyright filing by the United States Copyright Office confirmed that Cohen has not only been cast in Ironheart but that he will be playing a character simply listed as “Mystery Man.” Since Mephisto has been depicted as a mysterious character known only to a few in Marvel Comics, it is possible that Cohen could be playing Mephisto.
To support the likelihood of Sacha Baron Cohen’s casting as Mephisto, a source close to Ironheart’s production team told Deadline in 2022 that there was talk of Cohen playing Mephisto in the upcoming series.
Moreover, reputed industry insider Jeff Sneider reaffirmed Sacha Baron Cohen’s casting as Mephisto via Twitter in March 2023.
