What Does Park Hye-soo’s Agency’s Latest Official Statement State?

On Monday, Park Hye-soo’s agency Ghost Studio released a statement related to the ongoing school violence case.

The official statement reads:

“We would like to inform you about the progress of the criminal defamation case. The investigative agency forwarded the case (sent a recommendation for indictment) on the grounds that the defendant violated the social evaluation of the complaint by revealing false information to a significant extent, so the charge of defamation was justified, and additional investigation is currently in progress.”

It further states:

“Separately from the above criminal complaint, the actor also filed a lawsuit claiming damages for defamation by publishing false information. However, because the respondent’s residence is unknown, even service of the complaint has been delayed for several months.”

The agency concluded the statement by thanking Hye-soo’s supporters and fans, assuring that Ghost Studio will soon uncover the truth.

Park Hye-soo’s Bullying Controversy Explained

In 2021, Park Hye-soo’s former classmate accused the actress of being a school violence perpetrator. The classmate posted a lengthy post on an online community, accusing Hye-soo of being a bully and abusive in school.

The author of the post titled it, “How do I report that I was abused by a female celebrity when there is no evidence?” As soon as the post went viral, the Dear M actress and her agency didn’t waste much time to take legal action.

Hye-soon even released a statement on March 7, 2021, on Instagram, denying all the accusations. She wrote, “I’m sorry that it came to this and that it took so long. I went around in circles writing, erasing, and repeating. Because it was not true, I believed that it all would pass, but lies kept breeding more lies until it had piled up like a mountain, growing ever taller. I suffered as I watched two photographs that were unrelated to the truth being presented as “confirmation,” and these false claims kept creating a wall of judgment that would be difficult for me to take down.”

In the lengthy IG post, the K-drama actress explained her side of the story and gave assurance to her fans that the truth would come out soon. At the time, she took a year and eight months break from acting and avoided public events.

Meanwhile, the case is still ongoing but Park Hye-soo returned to her acting career. Her upcoming movie is You and I premiering on October 25, 2023.
