There’s finally some good news for fans of the popular comedy series. In February 2023, Deadline shared that NBC has renewed Night Court for a second season. This doesn’t come as a surprise as, according to the network, the series reached an audience of 25.7 million in delayed viewing since its premiere in January 2023.
Considering the first season aired in early 2023, the second can follow the previous release pattern and premiere in early 2024. However, no official release date has been announced yet. Originally, NBC had planned to air Season 2 in Fall 2023, but production seems to have halted due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. According to Deadline’s report, NBC announced that their regular programming would be pushed to 2024.
Given that the first season met with considerable success, Night Court Season 2 would be one of the first few shows that will be rescheduled by NBC. For now, fans can only hope and pray that the series returns to the TV screens in 2024. This date is an estimation based on the information we have at the time of this writing.
The official cast list for Season 2 is yet to be announced. But the existing cast members will potentially reprise their roles, including Melissa Rauch, India de Beaufort, and Kapil Talwalkar, among others.
