Just two weeks after That ’90s Show debut installment, the platform greenlit the series for Season 2 with a 16-episode order. So viewers can rest assured that they will be able to see their favorite characters making a return.
However, it looks like fans will have to wait for a considerable amount of time before they can binge the second season. In August 2023, Netflix reported that filming for Season 2 was delayed. As the show is filmed in front of a live audience, 1iota, the site that gives away the series’ taping tickets, revealed that it is delayed until the end of the writers’ strike.
On the website, it clearly states that “Production will resume after the WGA strike.” This makes it harder to predict when Season 2 will be on. Even though the writers seemed to have reached a tentative deal, actors’ issues are yet to be resolved and fans won’t be witnessing a second season until those too are taken care of. As of now, hoping that the strikes will be resolved by the end of this year, and we can look forward to a second installment in 2024. Only time will tell.
