Is there a Perry Mason Season 3 release date?
Fans of the beloved series are in for a disappointment as the verdict doesn’t look too good. In June 2023, a month and a half after Season 2 ended, HBO opted to cancel the series and not renew it for a third season. In a statement to Deadline, HBO said, “While we won’t be moving forward with another season of the series, we are excited to continue working with the brilliant creatives at Team Downey on future projects.”
This news comes in as a shock given how well the series had done in the first two seasons, especially in it’s freshman year, when it earned four Emmy nominations. Ahead of the Season 2 finale, Robert Downey Jr. addressed that there were talks of a third season but the decision “rests in the hands of others.” Showrunner Michael Begler told TV Line that they were thinking about a third season and would love the opportunity to explore more stories with the characters.
Although there is hope, as of now the series officially remains cancelled and not renewed for a Season 3. But there have been times when the popularity of shows have brought them back on the TV screens. So fans will have to hope and pray for the decision to change and the story to continue.
