Ever since it was reported in August 2020 that Olivia Wilde would direct a Sony-Marvel movie that was heavily speculated to be based on the character Spider-Woman, fans have been curious about the release date of the film. Said to be a female-centric superhero film, Olivia Wilde also tweeted the report with a spider symbol back in 2020.
Here’s all the Spider-Woman release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a Spider-Woman release date?
At the time of writing, Spider-Woman does not have an official release date set. However, as per estimates, the film could come out on June 27, 2025.
This is because Sony Pictures has an empty release slot on June 27, 2025. However, it is possible that the empty release slot could go to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 as that film is in the early stages of its development, but has been halted because of the ongoing strikes by the WGA and SAG AFTRA members. On the other hand, remotely nothing is known about the development or production status of Olivia Wilde’s Spider-Woman, aside from the fact that Wilde and her writing partner Katie Silberman are attached to the project and that the project will be a part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which features Spider-Man related characters: Venom, Morbius and Kraven the Hunter.

Where is Spider-Woman coming out?
Spider-Woman isn’t confirmed to release in theaters anytime soon.
Moreover, it is currently unknown which iteration of Spider-Woman will be featured in the film. Although many believe it to be Jessica Drew’s version of Spider-Woman, the film could also be centered around Sydney Sweeney’s Julia Carpenter, who in the comics is also known as Spider-Woman and will be introduced in 2024’s Madame Web, which will feature two other characters who have assumed the role of Spider-Woman such as Mattie Franklin, played by Celeste O’Connor and Anya Corazon played by Isabel Merced.
