It’s no secret that Anakin Skywalker would be popping up during the Ahsoka Disney Plus TV show, but it was never clear in what form he would return. Would actor Hayden Christensen portray the character in a flashback, or something more? Here’s what we know about Anakin in Ahsoka, and whether he’s alive, dead, or a Force Ghost.
Is Anakin Skywalker alive or dead in the Ahsoka series?
Anakin Skywalker could be alive in the Ahsoka TV series thanks to the mysterious World Between Worlds.
Thanks to this curious plane between time and space, the version of Anakin that we see in Ahsoka is from a time before Revenge of the Sith and therefore before he sealed his fate and became Darth Vader.
While the Anakin Skywalker who became Darth Vader is very much dead during the events of Ahsoka, following his electrocution by Emperor Palpatine, the version of Anakin appearing in Ahsoka is clearly alive, assuming that he isn’t a Force Ghost or trick.
Is Anakin Skywalker a Force Ghost in Ahsoka?
It’s possible that the Anakin Skywalker appearing in Ahsoka is a Force Ghost. However, he doesn’t have the same transparent appearance that other Force Ghosts have had in the past.
Throughout the Star Wars movies and TV shows, we’ve seen Force Ghosts appear across many different planets. They aren’t necessarily tied to a single place, as the Force is everywhere. Anakin’s appearance in the World Between Worlds makes it seem as though there is more to the story and that he isn’t just a Force Ghost.
Fans can expect the official explanation during episode 5 next week. Until then, all we can do is speculate as we wait.
