One Piece Trans Character: Is Kiku Transgender?

Is there a One Piece trans character? The long list of characters from this series is diverse, and that adds to the amazing worldbuilding that creator Eiichiro Oda has done. With that, One Piece does indeed have characters that are members of the LGBTQIA+ community. One of these characters is Kiku from the Akazaya Nine.

Is Kiku from One Piece transgender?

Kiku is a trans character.

She was born male and was known in the past as “the most beautiful swordsman in Wano Country.” However, Kiku calls herself to be a “woman at heart.” She also identifies more with stereotypically feminine traits. Before traveling to the future, Kiku’s outfit choices leaned more toward a masculine samurai. At present, Kiku looks more like her true self. She wears red lipstick and dresses up in feminine clothing.

About Kiku, One Piece’s trans character

Kiku, or Kikunojo of the Fallen Snow, is a samurai and one of Oden Kozuki’s retainers. Oden’s retainers are known as the Akazaya Nine or the Nine Red Scabbards. After serving Oden, they now currently serve Oden’s son, Momonosuke Kozuki. Kiku is the younger sibling of Izo, who was also a retainer of Oden.

Kiku is currently 22 years old, although she was born 42 years ago, considering she traveled 20 years forward in time with Momonosuke, Kinemon, Raizo, and Kanjuro.
