Is There a Jack Ryan spin-off?
A Jack Ryan spin-off is reportedly in production at Amazon Studios.
The first news about the Jack Ryan spin-off was first reported by Deadline in 2022. At the time, there was no firm concept or a script, but the producers perceived there might be some interest in more stories set in the world built by Tom Clancy. Still, Amazon Studios has never officially announced the series. Nothing significant came out later, with the streaming landscape constantly changing. It’s hard to tell whether the ongoing strike will impact the production of the series that still sounds at its early stages.
Who’s the protagonist of the Jack Ryan spin-off?
If confirmed, the new Jack Ryan series will focus on Domingo Chavez.
Portrayed by Marvel Cinematic Universe alum Michael Peña, Ding Chavez was only introduced in season 4. Still, he plays a pivotal role in Clancy’s books and has become a beloved character since his first appearance in 1989’s Clear and Present Danger. Chavez comes from a Mexican-American background and grew up in a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles before being recruited to join the counterterrorism unit known as Rainbow Six.
In recent interviews, though, Peña confessed he didn’t know the spin-off was still happening. And even if he stated fans would like to see it, the ultimate decision is up to Amazon. If the spin-off happens, Peña said he would like to see more of Mike November (Michael Kelly).
