Superman: Legacy Casting Rumor Dispelled by James Gunn

James Gunn, Co-CEO of DC Studios, has debunked yet another Superman: Legacy casting rumor over social media.

When a user asked Gunn if there was any truth to the rumors that a casting call has been sent out for Superman, one specifically for 20-30 year old actors, the filmmaker immediately dispelled the rumor. Gunn stated that a casting director hasn’t even been hired for the movie yet, meaning casting has yet to fully begin.

This isn’t the first rumor of its type to take off, as a similar rumor was debunked by Gunn over Twitter just last month. That same month, there was also a rumor about Superman’s age in the upcoming movie, which Gunn similarly dispelled.

The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
