Wish I Was Here
Zach Braff's directorial feature arrives a full decade after his Garden State. Braff again takes the lead, starring as a 35-year-old aspiring actor who, realizing that his life isn't what he wants it to be, begins efforts to make things right for his family. Featuring an ensemble cast that also includes Kate Hudson, Joey King and Mandy Patinkin, Wish I Was Here hits Blu-ray this week with a number of special features, including two different audio commentaries: one with Braff himself and another with with and his brother and co-writer Adam J. Braff.

The Vanishing
The world lost Dutch director George Sluizer last month, but his work lives on as his 1988 masterpiece The Vanishing gets an HD upgrade from the Criterion Collection this month. Among the greatest thrillers to ever hit the big screen, The Vanishing follows a man desperate to find out what happened to his missing girlfriend. All the special features from the SD version are ported over and included with a brand new 4K transfer.

Squirm
Scream Factory delivers a last-minute Halloween suggestion with director Jeff Lieberman's 1976 tale of bloodthirsty worms and the town that becomes their dinner menu. Debuting on HD, Squirm also includes a host of newly-created special features, including a commentary with Lieberman.

Planet of the Vampires
Cited as one of Ridley Scott's primary influences on his original Alien, Mario Bava's eerie 1965 science fiction tale gets a new life in HD thanks to Kino Video and this new release, hitting just in time for Halloween.

Night Breed
Nearly 25 years after the film hit theaters, Clive Barker's Night Breed finally gets the director's cut it deserves with Scream Factory's new special edition, which offers hours of bonus content. Hardcore collectors may instead opt for the limited edition Director's Cut which, though pricey, is also the only way to get the theatrical version.

James Franco, Kate Hudson and Omar Sy headline director Henrik Ruben's adaptation of Marcus Sakey's 2008 novel of the same name. In it, Franco and Hudson play a financially struggling couple who find a massive amount money hidden in the apartment of one of their dead tenants.

Scott Derrickson, whose next directing gig is Marvel's Doctor Strange, helms this recent supernatural thriller starring Eric Bana and Edgar Ramirez. Beethoven's Treasure Tail
As devotees of the Beethoven cinematic universe are already aware, this is the eighth overall Beethoven film and the third in the "rebooted" franchise, offering the continuing adventures of a lovable Saint Bernard who becomes a movie star. Begin Again
John Carney, the writer/director behind the acclaimed Once, delivers a new musical drama with Begin Again, the story of a singer-songwriter, Gretta James (Keira Knightley), who begins a partnership with a struggling New York record executive, Dan Mulligan (Mark Ruffalo).
