Exclusive Photos from Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Birdman

Fox Searchlight has provided ComingSoon.net with exclusive photos from Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Birdman, which opens in select cities today, Friday, October 17.

Michael Keaton stars as Riggan Thomson, an actor who became famous playing the superhero Birdman in a blockbuster franchise, but now he’s trying to revive his career by staging in a Broadway play which has become plagued by problems. Edward Norton plays Mike Shiner, the hot younger Broadway star who comes in and starts to usurp Riggan’s control. Emma Stone is Riggan’s troubled daughter, who he’s taken on as his assistant to keep her out of rehab, while Amy Ryan is his estranged wife Sylvia, who sees the cracks showing in Riggan’s life as his girlfriend (Andrea Riseborough) reveals she’s pregnant.

The cast also includes Zach Galifianakis, Naomi Watts and Lindsay Duncan as it follows Riggan over the course of the days leading up to the play’s opening, Inarritu’s camera moving in one continuous shot through the theater and the rest of New York City.
