Avengers: Infinity War featured a ton of huge battles, but new concept art from the film shows one specific battle starring War Machine that didn’t make the final cut.

In a recent Instagram post, artist and film concept designer Phil Saunders shared some concept art from early from his days with Infinity War. The art specifically shows off Don Cheadle’s War Machine fighting Proxima Midnight, a member of Thanos’ Black Order, in Edinburgh during the film.

The art itself shows James Rhodes controlling the armor via a holographic system designed by Tony Stark. This is similar to a concept originally introduced in Iron Man 3, where Tony Stark was able to remotely pilot Iron Man suits while somewhere else. Saunders notes that the process was interesting to design.
The concept art not only shows War Machine battling Proxima Midnight, but also the Hulkbuster armor — which was originally introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron — facing off against some enemies in the background. According to Saunders, the idea was to originally have Bruce Banner piloting the armor, as he does later in the movie, but the scene eventually got cut altogether early on.

Despite being cut from the film, many of the concepts from the art did make it into the final film, including Banner piloting the Hulkbuster armor and War Machine getting to battle against the Outrider armies in Wakanda.
