Resident Evil Village‘s multipronged DLC covers a lot different areas in the game. Capcom left out some details during its reveal in June, but has released another trailer for the expansion, which has more Mercenaries gameplay and sneak peaks of the Shadows of the Rose and third-person mode sections of the DLC, as well. The publisher also revealed that all of this new content will be $19.99 and the full game with DLC bundle will be $49.99.
While the new trailer demonstrates the Mercenaries additions in action, Capcom took to the PlayStation Blog to reveal the two new maps (Blood Village and Bloody Rivers) and discuss the intricacies of each of the three new characters. The nine-foot-tall Lady Dimitrescu can mostly be seen slicing enemies with her long talons. She also has a Thrill Gauge that players must manage. As the meter builds, she will move faster, have more damaging slashes, and and be able to use more moves like being able to grab and slam enemies. Maxing out will peak out her abilities and let the player summon one of her daughters to fight alongside her. While not overly discussed, the trailer also shows her throwing a massive chair and using her cigarette holder as some sort of a ranged weapon, which might be tied to her Thrill Gauge.

Series standby Chris Redfield is yet another one of the playable characters and has more moves than he had in the base game. He also has his own gauge called the Onslaught Gauge. Once it fills up, players can go into onslaught mode where his movement speed, reload speed, and attack damage all increase dramatically. Using a Resident Evil 5-esque straight punch will also provide a big boost to the gauge, too. He can even call down a supporting air strike like he could in the base game.
Karl Heisenberg’s hammer and magnets differentiate him from the other characters. He can charge electricity by swinging the hammer, which can be released by slamming it on the ground to deal damage to those around him. One of his special abilities utilizes his powers in a different way and lets him pull enemies closer to him, but it makes him move more slowly. Another move lets him fling metal objects like saw blades at his foes. Similarly to how Lady Dimitrescu can summon her daughter, Heisenberg can even call forth a Soldat Jet, the jet-headed mechanical monstrosity players fight a few times in the campaign, to take on enemies.

The trailer was mostly focused on Mercenaries, but it did also have snippets of Shadows of Rose — the story-focused add-on centered around Ethan Winters’ daughter — and the third-person mode for the campaign. Most of the clips contained new footage, but they weren’t long enough to reveal much.
Capcom also spoke of the pre-order bonus users can earn if they drop cash on the DLC before it comes out on October 28. Those who pre-order will get the Street Wolf outfit, which is a special costume Rose can wear in Shadows of Rose. It is a black jacket with the logo of Chris’ squad on the back.
