Spider-Man PC Port Announced, Has Sold 33 Million Copies to Date

Spider-Man & Miles Morales PC Ports Announced, Series Hits 33 Million Copies Sold

PlayStation’s most recent State of Play mostly focused on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation VR2 games, but it also had one big announcement for PC players. The company revealed that Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales were both coming to PC later this year.

Spider-Man, specifically the remastered version that launched on PS5, will release on PC on August 12 and feature all of the DLC. The accompanying PlayStation Blog post did not dive into the technical specs, though, but promised those details would come later. Nixxes Software is handling both ports, which is to be expected since that is likely what Sony acquired that team for. Nixxes’ Founder and Senior Director of Development Jurjen Katsman spoke about porting the two titles.

“I am extremely pleased with our collaboration with Insomniac on the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, the shared support provided between our teams and their dedication to quality above all is inspiring,” he said. “It allows our team to leverage our technical expertise and focus on creating the best possible PC experience that takes advantage of all the exciting possibilities the PC platform has to offer.”

The studio had little say about Spider-Man and even less to say about Miles Morales. Neither the post nor the trailer had any screen shots or footage about that smaller Miles-led entry. It doesn’t have a solid release date, either, and is scheduled to release this fall.

The post did contain some information about the PlayStation versions of the series, saying the two titles have sold a combined 33 million copies as of May 15, 2022. This is a high number, but not too surprising since Miles Morales is still charting on the monthly NPD over a year and a half later, a streak that has bested the year-long tail of the 2018 installment.
