In a recent interview with Good Morning America, Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Black Mirror, The Morning Show) has confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Ravonna Renslayer in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Loki Season 2. Fans last saw her character leaving the Time Variance Authority in search of “free will,” following a confrontation with Owen Wilson’s Mobius.

“So, so exciting. I know there is a Season 2. I know that I’m in it, and that’s about all I can say!” Mbatha-Raw said. “Well, I just love Renslayer. I’m so excited to explore her further, and I’m so happy that people are really looking forward to the next season.”

In the comics, Renslayer has a romantic connection with Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror, who is also set to debut in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The said villain is being portrayed by Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors, who previously appeared in Loki Season 1 finale as a variant of Kang the Conqueror called He Who Remains.

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Loki Season 1 featured the return of the God of Mischief as he gets arrested by the Time Variance Authority due to the damage he had done with the timeline. The second season will once again be led by Marvel Cinematic Universe vet Tom Hiddleston. Production is expected to begin this summer.

Season 1 also starred Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Renslayer, and Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15 along with guest appearances from Sasha Lane, Cailey Fleming, Richard E. Grant, DeObia Oparei, Jack Veal, and Jaime Alexander.
