The series will be a 10-episode comedy that’s written by Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, who portrays Roy Kent in Ted Lasso and also serves as a writer on that hit series as well. According to the report, the trio will all serve as writers and executive producers for the series.
Shrinking will follow the story of a grieving therapist who begins breaking the rules and being bluntly honest with his clients. This leads to some huge changes in his patients’ lives, as well as his own. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lawrence’s studio-based Doozer Productions.
For Lawrence, this will be his third series at Apple, joining Ted Lasso and the recently announced Bad Monkey already planned for the streaming platform. As for Segel, this will be his second foray into Apple TV+, as he has the upcoming The Sky is Everywhere slated for launch.
