24 is one of the most iconic television series to ever be released, and according to a recent report from Deadline, the chances of the show returning to the airwaves are currently being discussed.

According to Deadline’s report, “active creative discussions” are currently underway about potentially bringing back the classic action series starring Kiefer Sutherland. “There’s still a possibility, there’s still some discussions with the producers on a take that we have yet to hear,” Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn said. “There [are] some active creative discussions that are happening.”
Rumors of a potential return for the iconic series have popped up at various times throughout the past couple of years, but nothing concrete has happened as of yet. Of course, with even more people at FOX speaking about it, it’s possible that the series returning could be gaining more traction.
The original 24 launched way back in November 2001 and had 24 episodes a season (sometimes shown in blocks of more than one hour), each representing an hour in the life of Jack Bauer. It won the award for Outstanding Drama Series at the 2006 Primetime Emmy Awards. After its eighth season, the show beat out Mission: Impossible to become the longest-running U.S. espionage/counterterrorism-themed television drama in history.

In 2017, Fox cancelled 24: Legacy, the spin-off series which starred Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), and Anna Diop (The Messengers).
