Murphy joins the film that is set to be directed by Emmy nominee Kenya Barris (Black-ish), who will make his directorial debut with the film. The unnamed comedy’s script being written by both Jonah Hill and Barris, with Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society production banner producing the film.
No exact plot details are known, but The Hollywood Reporter describes the film as “an incisive examination of modern love and family dynamics,” with Murphy and Hill on opposite sides of a cultural divide that will shape their relationships. No other cast members have been announced as of yet, but the draw of Murphy and Hill is likely something Netflix is hoping will draw tons of interest.
