Well, here’s a special treat for anyone in need of a pick me up. Famed composer Alan Menken, who is responsible for some of Disney’s greatest songs, including those in The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Tangled, popped up during Rosie O’Donnell’s one-night-only return of The Rosie O’Donnell Show to perform a medley of his greatest hits. The composer even took time to talk about the now-in-hiatus live action Little Mermaid film. Check out the video in the player below!

Of note, O’Donnell, whose show ran from 1996 through 2002, used the event to raise over $600,000 for The Actors Fund to, per the The Wrap, “provide relief for members of the entertainment industry affected by the coronavirus pandemic.”
Menken was among several celebrities who popped in remotely from locked down locations to deliver the performance, which featured “Under the Sea” from “The Little Mermaid,” “Be Our Guest” from “Beauty and the Beast,” “Suddenly Seymour” from “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Colors of the Wind” from “Pocahontas,” “King of New York” from “Newsies,” “Never Had a Friend Like Me” from “Aladdin,” “Go the Distance” from “Hercules,” “I See the Light” from “Tangled,” “That’s How You Know” from “Enchanted,” “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” from the movie of the same name, and “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin.”
