Atlas Independent and Relativity International today announced that Patrick Wilson (Young Adult, Little Children) will star in their upcoming The Man on Carrion Road. Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego (Apollo 18, Open Grave) will direct the film based on a script by Nils Lyew.
The Man on Carrion Road tells the visceral story of a botched Mexican cartel deal in the back roads of a border town. The town’s new sheriff (Wilson) must team up with the retired lawman he replaced to investigate the source of the deal in order to stop a mysterious cartel butcher and his systematic brutalization of the town’s residents.
Patrick Wilson was last seen reuniting with Rose Byrne for James Wan’s Insidious Chapter 2. Upcoming, Wilson can be seen alongside Liv Tyler in Jack Plotnick’s Space Station 76 and in Joe Carnahan’s Stretch alongside Chris Pine and Brooklyn Decker.
I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to direct such an amazing script with the perfect leading man in Patrick, said Lopez-Gallego.
William Green, Aaron Ginsburg, and Andy Horwitz of Atlas Independent will produce. MICA Entertainment is financing with Relativity International selling the picture overseas. The film is slated to being production in March of 2014.
