With Halloween just a couple weeks away, everyone is looking to beef up their holiday watch list. From classic thrillers to fan-favorite scares, Kanopy’s collection of titles is perfect to include on any streaming roundup you may have in the works. If this wasn’t good enough, members of partnered academic and public libraries nationwide have free access to the films via the streaming service. Some popular films available include Ari Aster’s Hereditary starring Toni Collette, Robert Eggers’ The Witch, and George A. Romero’s box office smash Night of the Living Dead. You guessed it, a bed possessed by a demon consumes its sleepers alive. Patton Oswalt did a classic bit about this movie!

Don't Look Now (1977)
After the accidental death of their daughter, a grieving couple head to Venice where the husband has been tasked with restoring a church. They then meet two sisters who claim to be in contact with their dead daughter. Nicolas Roeg's classic features an infamous (possibly unsimulated?) sex scene between Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie.

Based on a Japanese folk tale, Kuroneko revolves around a group of samurai who commit a series of horrible crimes. The victims of these crimes come back to life as vampires/ghosts and seek revenge.

The Blood Beast Terror (1968)
A 19th-century entomologist's daughter turns into a blood-sucking moth... Peter Cushing stars, and the film also features Wanda Ventham, a.k.a. Benedict Cumberbatch's mom!

A Bay of Blood (1971)
Considered to be one of the original slashers, A Bay of Blood is all about what will happen to a beautiful piece of beachfront property following the murder of its owner. In order to acquire the inheritance of said property, the family and surrounding community go on a killing spree. Mario Bava's film was a prototype for Friday the 13th!

Dead Ringers (1988)
