Willem Dafoe is the latest name to join the cast of director Josh Boone’s The Fault in Our Stars. Actor Ansel confirmed the news today via his Twitter account.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Elgort writes, “the legendary Willem Dafoe will be gracing our presence playing Dr.Peter Van Houten in our #tfiosmovie. Oh happy day!
The script, by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, made 2012’s “Black List” of unproduced screenplays with the following official log line:
Based on the eponymous novel by John Green, a teenage girl, stricken with cancer falls for a boy in her support group and the two form a bond as they deal with their illnesses.
Dafoe can soon be seen in director Stephen Sommers’ Dean Koontz adaptation Odd Thomas and director Scott Cooper’s Out of the Furnace.
