Production Has Begun on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 14

Break out the Fight Milk and Wolf Cola, there’s more It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on the horizon. It appears that the long-running FX comedy series has just begun production on its 14th season. Series star and writer Charlie Day posted a photo of himself alongside Glenn Howerton and creator Rob McElhenney on Instagram with the simple caption “Season 14 #Sunny”

Season 13 of the series ended with Mac (McElhenney) finally coming out of the closet, a years-long payoff that managed to subvert audience expectations while still remaining true to the show’s distinctive mean streak. This opens up a number of possibilities for where the show could go, as Mac’s own repressed sexuality was the subject of running gags going back to the very first episode.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia follows the misguided dreams and blundered schemes of The Gang — Mac, Dennis (Howerton), Charlie (Day), Sweet Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito) — as they try to navigate life, love, and their long-suffering bar, Paddy’s Pub.
