FX has announced it will launch the sixth season of “Sons of Anarchy” on September 10 at 10 PM ET/PT with a special 90-minute episode and will continue to run the series on Tuesdays at 10 PM.
“Sons of Anarchy” is an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle clubs (MC) desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that, charming. The MC must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers, and overzealous law officers. Behind the MCs familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive shop is a ruthless and illegal arms business driven by the seduction of money, power, and blood.
Jackson Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) is SAMCROs new President who must face the consequences of the MCs illicit deeds before they tear the club apart. Gemma Teller-Morrow (Katey Sagal) is Jaxs formidable mother. Clarence Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) is Jaxs stepfather, the last of the Original Nine and former President. Dr. Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff) is Jaxs old lady and mother of his second son.
Having framed Clay for the murder of Damon Pope, Season Six begins with Jaxs leadership uncontested, but his family life suffering from his single-minded pursuit of John Tellers vision. Jax must find a way to keep Tara from going to prison for conspiracy to commit murder while rebuilding his club and breaking from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friends death.
“Sons of Anarchys” season five notched its most viewers to date, continuing the shows run as the highestrated program in the history of FX. In Total Viewers, the show captured an average of 6.4 million and in Adults 18-49, it averaged 4.4 million viewers.
