Following Green Door‘s debut last month on Taiwan’s Public Television Service, Deadline reports that Netflix has successfully acquired the global rights to the Taiwanese horror drama. The streaming service is planning to release the series this Saturday on March 16, launching it in more than 190 countries.

Green Door is based on Joseph Chen’s novel of the same name. It follows the story of Wei Sung-Yen, a troubled psychologist who returns from the U.S. to set up his own practice in Taiwan, where mysterious patients and uncanny events shed light on his murky past.
The series is directed by Lingo Hsieh (The Bride), who also serves as co-creator alongside Takashige Ichise (The Grudge, Shutter). It stars Taiwanese singer-actor Jam Hsiao (You’re My Destiny), Hsieh Ying-Hsuan (Dear Ex), Bea Hayden Kuo (The Starry Night, The Starry Sea.), Ruby Zhan (The Tag-Along 2), Enno Cheng (Tears), Hai Rong Shen (The Perfect Match) , Blue Lan (Love,Timeless) and Jason King (All in 700).

The series is Netflix’s newest addition to their Mandarin-language content which consist of the dramas Meteor Garden (2018), A Touch of Green, Wake Up, Days We Stared at the Sun, Close Your Eyes Before It’s Dark, Have You Ever Fallen in Love, Miss Jiang? and Love Storm.
