After an intense bidding war between multiple networks, Deadline is reporting that FOX has successfully gained the rights to the script of the animated comedy Therapy Dog. Following the network’s win, they’re already in the process of developing the new series that is co-created by actresses Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe) and Clea DuVall (American Horror Story) along with writers Jennie Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan (Divorce).
Therapy Dog follows the story of Honey, a dog who runs group therapy sessions to help her fellow neighborhood animals to manage the neuroses brought on by their owners and each other. The animated series was co-written by DuVall, Critten and Allan, who will all serve as executive producers together with Horgan and Clelia Mountford through their Merman Production Company.

Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor are also set as executive producers through their Kapital Entertainment (A Million Little Things) banner, which will be the show’s studio.
Therapy Dogs is not the only animated series that FOX is currently developing. The network has also acquired two new animated series: Bless the Harts from co-creators Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Emily Spivey and Seth Cohen; and Amy Poehler’s Duncanville, which is a family comedy.
