Sony and Microsoft have both announced the slate of January 2019 free games that will be available to subscribing PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold members.
PlayStation Plus members will receive Steep, the open world sports game with the most epic mountains. Members will also receive the action-RPG Portal Knights where players can choose to explore alone or team up with up to three other friends in cooperative multiplayer.

The PS Plus lineup also includes the Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Amplitude for the PS3, as well as Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion and Super Mutant Alien Assault for the PS Vita. Members will receive these titles between January 1st and February 5, 2019. Members can also still get the Warframe: PlayStation Plus Booster Pack III for free from now until January 15, 2019. Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games — two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 — as part of the Games with Gold Program. On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download Celeste for free during the month of January. WRC 6 FIA World Rally Championship will be available as a free download from January 16 to February 15.
On Xbox 360, starting January 1st, Lara Croft: Guardian of Light will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through January 15. Then on January 16, Xbox Live Gold members can download Far Cry 2 for free through January 31st. You can subscribe to Xbox Live Gold via this link.
