More Cool Stuff From Toy Fair 2013

Toy Fair 2013 has been over for a couple of days, but we’ve added a bunch of new photos that we didn’t get around to post before including a few more Funko Pop! Vinyl figures that we didn’t get around to the first time and a few other things we saw before leaving the Javits Center.

One vendor we really haven’t paid too much attention to in the past is Jazwares Inc., but that isn’t going to be a mistake we’ll make in the future. They have a cool line of Star Wars Spyware that combines the popular Lucasfilm franchise with toys that can be used for spying on your friends and family, things like a Voice Changer, Perimeter Droids Trip Wire Alarm, Bounty Hunter Watch, Night Vision Goggles and they’re adding many other things to the line in the coming months.

Jazwares also has the license to the popular video game and movie series “Mortal Kombat,” which celebrated its 20th Anniversary last year and they’ve already released a slew of 4″ and 6″ figures based on the popular characters. With a new movie directed by Kevin Tancharoen scheduled for next year, we expect interest in these figures to build.

But the really cool announcement Jazwares had to make at this year’s Toy Fair was that they’re handling the license to produce figures for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming World War Z, starring Brad Pitt. While we weren’t allowed to take pictures of the yet-to-be-approved line, we got to see prototypes for the Brad Pitt figure as well as the different zombies representing four different stages, including a Civilian Zombie, a Paramedic Zombie and a Soldier Zombie. Hopefully official photos of these will be released soon.

Some of the new stuff we added from Funko includes some of their Domo versions of popular DC Comics characters, vinyl figures from “The Walking Dead,” Monsters University bobble heads and plush toys, DC Universe “Mystery Minis” as well as a few more Iron Man 3 toys that we missed the first time. They wouldn’t let us photograph their Man of Steel figures, which include Superman and General Zod.

At another booth, we were awed by a full array of lead figurines from Eaglemoss, which have been huge in the UK and Europe but are just starting to make their way to the States. They’ve been releasing these figurines based on Marvel Comics and DC Comics characters for years and the most recent addition is a Batman Chess Collection set which like their other figurine sets is being released one piece at a time. They’re also releasing a series of die-cast collectible Batmobiles including a 3D lenticular backdrop that should be popular.

You can see all of these new pictures in the Toy Fair Gallery. We’ll be back next year with even more cool toys and collectibles.
