Michael Mann to Direct Chris Hemsworth in New Thriller

Michael Mann has lined up a new project in the form of a still-untitled thriller that he co-wrote with Morgan David Foehl. Variety reports that Chris Hemsworth is attached to headline.

Set up through Legendary Pictures, the thriller marks the first Mann film since 2009’s Public Enemies and, while official plot details have not been released, the trade suggests that the storyline has to deal with cyber security.

Hemsworth had a busy 2012, starring in The Cabin in the Woods, Red Dawn, Marvel’s The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman. He’ll next headline Ron Howard’s Rush before returning to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe in Alan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World.

Mann joins Jon Jashni and Thomas Tull as producers with Alex Garcia executive producing.
