According to Bloody Disgusting, Barbara Crampton, best known for her roles in films like Chopping Mall and Re-Animator has joined the cast of SYFY’s latest horror anthology endeavor, Channel Zero: The Dream Door. Crampton will play Vanessa Moss, a woman with a special relationship with Tom Hodgson, played by Brandon Scott (Greys Anatomy).
Joining Crampton will be Scott, Maria Sten (Straight Outta Compton), Steven Robertson (Elementary) and Steven Weber (Wings). Evan Katz (Small Crimes) will direct the episode. Nick Antosca (Hannibal) will return as executive producer, writer, and showrunner for the upcoming installment.
This latest Channel Zero installment is based on the creepypasta short story Hidden Door by Charlotte Bywater. The Dream Door will follow newlyweds Jillian (Sten) and Tom (Scott), who each have brought their own secrets into their marriage. After a strange door is discovered in their basement, those secrets they kept from each other will threaten their relationship — and their lives.
The episode will premiere on the SYFY channel later this year. Previous seasons of the series include Channel Zero: Candle Cove, Channel Zero: No-End House, and Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block from earlier this year.
