Deadline reports that Sacred Lies star Kiana Madeira has joined the cast of The CW‘s The Flash as a recurring character for the show’s upcoming season 5.
Madeira’s is set to play the character of Spencer Young who is also known as the villain Spin. Young is described as a social media influencer who seizes the opportunity to make her dreams of becoming famous a reality when she discovers that there is a new hero in Central City. She’ll make her debut in season 5’s fourth episode.
In the comics, Madeira’s Spin character was originally a male character but producers ultimately decided to defer from the comics and change the character as a female for the DC television drama.
The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramo, Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West-Allen aka the speedster hero XS, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, with Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells, and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West.

The season 5 of The Flash premieres on October 9 on The CW.
