Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect, Graves) will be joining the fourth and final season of The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Deadline has confirmed from today’s TCA.
Astin will be stepping into the role of Greg for the series, the former love interest for Rebecca Bunch, played by Rachel Bloom. Previously played by Santino Fontana, the series will see Astin’s version emerge as a “reimagined” version of the character after having been absent for the third season of the series.
The CW bosses also teased storylines for the new season, including the return of Patton Oswalt as Castleman — who will sing a song — as well as “Cell Block Tango” from the musical Chicago appearing in the upcoming season.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning comedy series that follows Rebecca Bunch (Bloom), a successful and driven woman who seemingly has it all — an upscale apartment in Manhattan and a partnership at a prestigious law firm — but she feels like something is missing. After a chance meeting with a former romantic interest, Rebecca impulsively decides to give up her life in New York and relocate to West Covina, California, a Los Angeles suburb she hopes will be the perfect home base as she embarks on a quest for love, adventure, and true happiness.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s fourth season will premiere on October 12.
