Netflix has announced the order of an 8-episode anthology series inspired by the music of singer/songwriter Dolly Parton!
“As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music,” Parton said. “I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support.”
The series will feature Pardon as executive producer and appearing in an undisclosed role. Each episode of the new anthology will take its cue from one of Parton’s songs.
Warner Bros. Television, who produced the NBC specials Coat of Many Colors and its sequel, Coat of Many Colors: Circle of Love, with Parton will also produce the anthology series.
Parton’s career kicked off in 1967 with her debut album Hello, I’m Dolly. Since then the prolific musician has gone on to release over 40 studio albums and countless #1 singles. Some of Parton’s hit songs throughout the years include Jolene, I Will Always Love You, 9 to 5, and many, many more.
