Adult Swim announces a Rick and Morty Season 3 premiere date
During a live stream of a fan event in Hollywood today, Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty Season 3 premiere date was announced. Well, the premiere date for the rest of the season. The first episode premiered with no warning on April 1, and fans have been waiting ever since to hear what was coming next. Co-creator Dan Harmon (Community) joked during the event that the Rick and Morty Season 3 premiere of episode 1 was on April Fool’s Day, and on March 30, someone asked him to just make it happen. Harmon, who knew about the surprise premiere, said that now everyone thinks he can just immediately choose the premiere day. The Rick and Morty Season 3 premiere will happen on July 30. There is also a trailer, which you can watch in the player below.

In Season 2, Rick Sanchez (Justin Roiland) is still living with his daughter Beth’s (Sarah Chalke) family and causing more trouble than ever. This season the rest of the family, his son-in-law Jerry (Chris Parnell), grand-daughter Summer (Spencer Grammer) and grand-son Morty (Justin Roiland) are dragged into Rick’s intergalactic adventures, as he faces new threats and mysteries of his secret past are revealed. Can the family survive Rick’s insanity and all the chaos the universe throws at them?
Created and executive produced by Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Adventure Time), the half-hour animated series airing on Sundays at 11:30pm ET/PT follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.
The show was renewed for 14 episodes for season 3. The official twitter handle for the show just tweeted simply, “July 30.”
