Director Joachim Ronning’s (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) next project will be directing the sci-fi thriller Here There Be Monsters. Ronning co-wrote the film with his brother, Andreas Ronning.
There is little known about the film, but The Hollywood Reporter stated that Here There Be Monsters will “assuredly include water,” which goes along with a particular running theme in Ronning’s previous work. Besides getting ready to helm this new project, the director is prepping to direct Disney’s Maleficent 2 while also co-writing the sci-fi action film Origin for Paramount alongside his brother Andreas.
The independent film and television studio Media Rights Capital, which was behind Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, will be developing Here There Be Monsters for the Ronning brothers. No production or release date has been set.
