Ready Player One’s Tye Sheridan set to star in Michael Cristofer’s The Night Clerk
Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One, X-Men: Apocalypse, Mud) has signed on to star in The Night Clerk, written and to be directed by Michael Cristofer (Chuck, Original Sin). The news was announced today by Highland Film Group. The Night Clerk is currently in pre-production and will be produced by WulfPak Productions’ David Wulf (Looking Glass, Little Women) and executive produced by Highland Film Group.
Hotel night clerk Bart Bromley (Sheridan), a highly intelligent young man on the Autism spectrum, uses secret surveillance cameras to record guests in an effort to improve his social interaction skills. When a woman is murdered during his shift, Bart becomes the prime suspect but can’t reveal that his illegal cameras captured evidence that would prove his innocence. As the police investigation closes in, Bart makes a personal connection with a beautiful guest named Andrea, but soon realizes he must stop the real murderer before she becomes the next victim. The film will begin principal photography in Utah this May.
Sheridan is known for his work as Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse and will reprise the role in the upcoming film X-Men: Dark Phoenix. He’s also been seen in Detour, The Stanford Prison Experiment, Mud, Joe and The Tree of Life. He’ll next be seen in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, which will hit theaters on March 29, 2018.
