UPDATE: Elizabeth Olsen has also wrapped filming the role of Scarlet Witch in the Avengers movies. You can view her video below!
As production continues on the highly-anticipated fourth Avengers film, actor Paul Bettany has revealed that he has officially wrapped on the project. Production on the film was originally scheduled to wrap up by the end of the year, but casting calls for the film now reveal that it will be filming well into January of 2018. Bettany marked the occasion with a video on Instagram.
In further Paul Bettany news, the actor spoke with Total Film about working on the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, describing the film as follows:
“It’s Han Solo’s story, and of course his story would be a caper. On one level it’s a gangster movie. That’s really interesting, because it’s within the canon but really different. It’s f***ing Han Solo!”
Bettany was brought on to the film when director Ron Howard was hired to replace directing team Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Bettany replaced Michael Kenneth Williams of The Wire fame who was unable to make time for the reshoots due to his already busy schedule. He also spoke about Howard’s work on the film, revealing that he reshot more of the movie than was originally planned.
“His staging ability is so f***ing brilliant. I think he went in and he was like a laser, working out what needed to be done when he looked at the footage. And then, as things moved on, everybody felt so secure with him. And they gave him more. He reshot a lot more than was originally intended.”
Bettany goes on to describe his character as “an intergalactic gangster,” but we likely won’t know more about him or Solo: A Star Wars Story until the new year. The spin-off movie is set to debut May 25, 2018, just three weeks after the release of Avengers: Infinity War.
