Tiffany Haddish, John Cho and more have joined Ike Barinholtz in The Oath
Girls Trip breakout star Tiffany Haddish (Keanu), John Cho (Star Trek Beyond, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle), Carrie Brownstein (Portlandia, Transparent), Billy Magnussen (Into the Woods, Ingrid Goes West), Meredith Hagner (Veep, Search Party), Nora Dunn (Southland Tales, Saturday Night Live), Jon Barinholtz (Dumb and Dumber To, Superstore) and Chris Ellis (Armageddon, Murder in the First) have joined Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad, The Mindy Project) in the upcoming film The Oath, according to THR. The film is being called a satirical thriller and Ike Barinholtz will both act in and direct from a script he wrote.
The timely script, set in a politically-divided America where citizens have to take an oath of loyalty, focuses on a man has to make it through the Thanksgiving holiday without destroying his family.
QC Entertainment (Get Out) will finance and produce The Oath and Barinholtz and David Stassen’s 23/34 Pictures. Sean McKittrick, Ray Mansfield and Edward H. Hamm Jr. will produce with Barinholtz, Stassen and Andrew Robinson. Haddish will executive produce The Oath.
The film will begin shooting next week. There are currently no character details available for Haddish, Cho or the other actors joining the cast.
Tiffany Haddish was a standout star in the comedy Girls Trip and has appeared in Keanu, The Carmichael Show and Meet the Spartans. She’ll be seen next in the Kevin Hart comedy Night School. Cho is known for playing Sulu in the Star Trek films, appearing in the Harold & Kumar films and Columbus. He also played the role of Andrew Kim in the TV series The Exorcist. He appeared in the Hulu series Difficult People as Todd Ross.
