Following yesterday’s Vanity Fair cover story about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios has posted a photo on their official Facebook page bringing many of the women from the MCU together for one picture. Including Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Pym), and Pom Klementieff (Mantis), you can check out the full photo by clicking the image above.
Previously there was talk from Thompson herself about a time when a photo like this became a pitch for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Speaking with CBR, the Thor: Ragnarok star said:
“We were just sort of all in a semicircle talking, and it just came up, because none of us really worked together…And we were sort of speculating on they ways in which it might happen in Infinity War, or might not happen, and we thought, ‘No, we should just have a whole movie where we know every day we’re going to arrive and get to work together.’ So we just ran right up to Kevin Feige and started talking about it.”
Thompson noted that Feige always has a “general interest” in the ideas that the stars of the films come to him with, and with another twenty movies already in the planning stages for the MCU, there’s bound to be room for an “A-Force” type film.
Most of the actress in the photo can be seen in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War which arrives May 4, 2018. Danai Gurira will make her debut in Black Panther on February 16, 2018 with Evangeline Lilly starring in Ant-Man and The Wasp on July 6, 2018 and Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel set to have her own solo movie on March 8, 2019.
