Amityville: The Awakening will no longer hit theaters this month
Amityville: The Awakening is officially off the summer movies list. Weinstein Co. and Dimension Films are moving Blumhouse‘s Amityville: The Awakening yet again and there is no new release date set. The film stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, Cameron Monaghan, Thomas Mann and Kurtwood Smith, and was set to bring back a classic horror franchise.

Amityville: The Awakening offers a revival of the popular franchise and a modern twist on the classic horror film. In the film, Belle and her family move into a new house, but when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.
The film has already gone through a number of release dates, beginning with January 2015, then April of 2016, then January of 2017, and most recently June 30, 2017. The film is directed by Franck Khalfoun, who is known for his work on films like P2, Maniac and I Lived.
Jennifer Jason Leigh is known for playing Daisy Domergue in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, Annie Sullivan in The Road to Perdition, Stevie in The Machinist, and Hedra Carlson in Single White Female. She also appeared in the TV series Weeds. Thorne is known for her work in the series Shake It Up! and Famous In Love. She’s also been seen in The Duff.
