Shine a Light on a New Kong: Skull Island Monster

We’ve received a mysterious dispatch from Monarch and it reveals a new Skull Island monster!

We just received an interesting delivery tied to Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures‘ upcoming 2017 monster blockbuster and it reveals a new Kong: Skull Island monster… if you know where to look! Accompanied by a letter from MONARCH (that’s the scientific organization that debuted in Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla), a poster-sized map shows off the layout of Skull Island itself. If you get the map under a black light, however, it offers quite a few top secret notes and a look at an underwater creature! Check out the full version of both maps in the gallery viewer at the bottom of this page. If you’d like to get a really close look at the top secret MONARCH notations, just click the image at the top of this page. You can also check out DiscoverSkullIsland.com for more info!

The letter itself is signed by William Randa, who is played by John Goodman in the new film. Will his character help pave the path between both contenders for 2020’s Godzilla vs King Kong? Only time will tell!

A trip back to the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes, the new film will follow a team of explorers (led by a character played by Tom Hiddleston), who venture deep inside the treacherous, primordial island to find the leader’s brother and a mythical serum, confronting extraordinary creatures along the way.

Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, Jing Tian, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Shea Whigham and Toby Kebbell also star in Kong: Skull Island.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Kong: Skull Island is scripted by John Gatins and Max Borenstein. Legendary’s John Jashni and Thomas Tull are producing alongside Mary Parent. Legendary has promised that the story will honor the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but will place Skull Island in an entirely new, distinct timeline.

Kong: Skull Island hits theaters March 10, 2017.
