While he’s been in the news this week for the announcement that he’ll next be directing Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro is set to hit theater screens a little bit sooner, albeit in an entirely different capacity. ComingSoon.net’s Edward Douglas has just checked in from a DreamWorks Animation event in New York City and has revealed that Del Toro, who is executive producing the film, will have a cameo in Puss In Boots.
The film, a spinoff of the successful Shrek franchise, stars Antonio Banderas as the title character, with a supporting cast that features Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris. Add to that Del Toro in the role of the Commandante, a character about whom we hope to have more details soon.
The film, a prequel to the events of Shrek 2, features the legendary Puss In Boots embarking on a heroic journey, teaming up with mastermind Humpty Dumpty and the street-savvy Kitty Softpaws to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.
Puss in Boots will hit theaters in 2D and 3D on November 4th.
