Bumblebee gets an upgrade for Transformers: The Last Knight

Director Michael Bay has revealed on his official website that not only is Bumblebee returning for the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight, but also that the fan-favorite Autobot is getting an upgrade! Check out the full image in the gallery below!

Since he landed on Earth, Bumblebee has taken the form of a Chevrolet Camaro, getting a tune up every time a new film has come out coincidentally, and the new Bumblebee happens to be a custom-built 2016 Chevy Camaro; though it’s a safe bet that he will be upgrading once again when his spin-off movie hits theaters in 2018.

The Transformers: The Last Knight cast is confirmed to include the return of Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox, as well as a new role for Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School, Growing Up Fisher) as the film’s female lead, Izabella. Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael Show, Neighbors) is also set to play an unspecified leading role with Sir Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs, Thor) in an unspecified role.

Production on Transformers: The Last Knight is set to begin June 6 in Detroit with production planned to take place at various locations around the world, including Cuba, with the film being only the second Hollywood production to shoot in the country.

Michael Bay returns to the director’s chair for the film, which is set to be written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto will produce the sequel.

Transformers: The Last Knight will debut in theaters on June 23, 2017.
