New details on Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman
Empire is back with more details on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and this time they’re focusing on the other pillar of the DC Trinity: Wonder Woman.
The outlet reports that at the time of Batman v Superman, the character is over 5,000 years old (in-line with previous versions of the character) but at the start of the film will be “coming out of retirement.” This of course brings up the question: What happens at the end of the WWI-set Wonder Woman movie that forces her into retirement?
“She’s seen it all,” Gal Gadot tells the outlet. “She has seen what humans can do, so it was very hard for her to come back and fight.”
Gadot goes on to say that her version of the character isn’t a stoic hero but is capable of a lighter touch and humor.
“I don’t want people to think she is perfect,” she said. “She can be naughty.”
Directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, joined by Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theaters on March 25. Gadot will reprise her role in the Wonder Woman movie set to open on June 23. 2017.
