First Look at Natalie Portman as a grieving Lady Kennedy in Jackie
Deadline has debuted our first look at Academy Award winner Natalie Portman (Black Swan, Thor: The Dark World) as former First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the anticipated biopic Jackie.
Portman stars in Jackie, which centers on the immediate days following President Kennedy’s assassination. The film catalogs the four days between JFK’s assassination and his burial, showing the beloved Kennedy at both her most vulnerable and her most graceful.
Greta Gerwig (Mistress America, No Strings Attached) co-stars as an aid to the title icon, with Peter Sarsgaard (Black Mass, “The Killing”) as President John F. Kennedy’s brother Robert, Max Casella (Inside Llewyn Davis, Blue Jasmine) as Jack Valenti and Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men, “The Mindy Project”) as Ladybird Johnson. John Hurt (V For Vendetta, “Doctor Who”) has also joined the cast.
Pablo Larrain (No, The Club) is directing the film from a screenplay by Noah Oppenheim (The Divergent Series: Allegiant, The Maze Runner). Darren Aronofsky and his Protozoa Pictures partner Scott Franklin are producing along with Juan de Dios Larrain of Chile’s Fabula and LD Films’ Mickey Liddell. Shooting is currently underway in Paris.
