IMAX Corporation and 20th Century Fox jointly announced the companies have entered into a long-term, multi-picture agreement. Marking the two companies’ first joint multi-picture agreement, the deal includes future tentpoles from the Fox slate, including Deadpool, Independence Day Resurgence, Maze Runner: The Death Cure and the studio’s untitled Wolverine project.

Gelfond, CEO of IMAX Corp. “Given their exciting upcoming slate, the agreement makes strategic sense for both companies. We are also excited to be able to release blockbusters together in China, which we think could help IMAX and Fox expand our footprint in that market jointly.”

The IMAX release of each film will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
