The Runner follows an idealistic but flawed politician (Cage), who, in the aftermath of the 2010 BP oil spill, is forced to confront his dysfunctional life after his career is destroyed in a sex scandal.
Nicolas Cage is currently filming Larry Charles’ Army of One. Cage is represented by CAA, Mike Nilon at KLWGN, and Jake Bloom and Patrick Knapp at Bloom Hergott. Austin Stark is a partner at Paper Street Films (Infinitely Polar Bear), a New York City film production and finance company. The Runner marks Stark’s writing and directorial debut.
