Robbie Amell and Jennifer Garner are set to join two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey (American Beauty, The Usual Suspects) in Men in Black helmer Barry Sonnenfeld’s upcoming comedy Nine Lives. TheWrap has the news on the former and Deadline the latter, collectively reporting that the pair will join a cast that also includes Academy Award winner Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter, Catch Me If You Can) and Malina Weissman, best known for playing young April O’Neil in the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot.
The film, scripted by Daniel Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin, follows a workaholic executive who, following some kind of accident, finds himself trapped in the body of his family’s pet cat.
Amell recently headlined the teen comedy The DUFF opposite Mae Whitman, Bella Thorne and Ken Jeong and is well known to DC Comics fan for playing Ronnie Raymond (AKA one half of Firestorm) on the hit CW series “The Flash.” Garner, meanwhile, starred opposite Steve Carell in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and opposite Al Pacino, Annette Bening and Bobby Cannavale in Danny Collins.
EuropaCorp is both financing and producing Nine Lives with its US film president Liza Ellzey overseeing the project.
