Jurassic World Cast – A Look at the Characters

On June 12, Jurassic World will make its North American debut and launch the first Jurassic Park movie in fourteen years. It’s important to note that Jurassic World is not a reboot. The three previous films still happened, and Jurassic World even takes place twenty two years after the first Jurassic Park movie, which mirrors the time difference between the films in the real world.

The biggest difference between the first three films and Jurassic World is that the dream of John Hammond (as played by the late Richard Attenborough) has been achieved. Jurassic World is a fully-functioning dinosaur theme park that is now owned by Masrani Global Corporation.

Barring some unannounced surprise cameos from the original stars, Jurassic World will feature all new characters as a dinosaur disaster inevitably strikes the island of Isla Nublar. But instead of sending Jurassic Park fans into the new movie without a briefing, ComingSoon.net has assembled a guide to the major Jurassic World cast members. Everything you need to know about the movie is right here!

Owen Grady (Chris Pratt)

Meet Owen Grady, the new main character of the Jurassic Park franchise. If Guardians of the Galaxy hadn’t already turned Chris Pratt into a full-fledged movie star, then this probably would have been his breakout role.

Owen is part of the staff of Jurassic World and a researcher into the behavior of velociraptors. Judging by the trailers, Owen is pretty good at his job.

Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard)

Claire Dearing is Jurassic World’s Operations Manager and she seems to have a rocky romantic history with Owen as seen in the preview scene that Joss Whedon loved so much. If both Claire and Owen make it out of the movie alive, they may even have a future together.

Admittedly, their survival seems like a pretty safe bet.

Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gray (Ty Simpkins)

It just wouldn’t be a Jurassic Park movie without children in danger. Zach and Gray are Claire’s nephews who just happen to be visiting the island when bad things go down. We imagine that they’ll spend most of the movie trying to avoid becoming a snack for the hybrid.

Vic Hoskins (Vincent D’Onofrio)

Fresh off his turn as Wilson Fisk in Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio plays Vic Hoskins, the head of security operations for InGen. In theory, it’s his job to keep everyone safe in Jurassic World.

Or at the very least, to keep his corporate masters safe.

Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan)

This is the man who fulfilled the promise of John Hammond’s vision for Jurassic Park. Simon Masrani is the owner of Jurassic World and the CEO of the Masrani Corporation.

Simon may also share some of Hammond’s hubris, if he signed off on the plan to create the hybrid.

Blue, Charlie, Delta & Echo

Owen really has a way with velociraptors. Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo have been successfully trained to follow Owen’s commands… But we have no idea how he tells them apart quite yet.

The Rest of the Jurassic World Cast

Jake Johnson co-stars in Jurassic World as Lowery Cruthers, the operator of the park; Omar Sy is playing a velociraptor tamer named Barry; B.D. Wong stars as Dr. Henry Wu, one of the men who helped Hammond resurrect the dinosaurs in the original Jurassic Park film; Brian Tee was cast as Katashi Hamada, the leader of the Asset Containment Unit security guards assigned to the island; Judy Greer plays Claire’s sister and the mother of Zach and Gray; Katie McGrath is Zara, Claire’s personal assistant; and Lauren Lapkus plays Vivian, an employee at the park.

Andy Buckley and James DuMont also have roles in Jurassic World, but the details about their characters haven’t been revealed yet.

Jurassic World hits theaters on Friday, June 12.
